The 1 1mm nib offers the consumer the opportunity to add a splash of calligraphy to their writing. Boasting the durable build and same beautiful design as lamy s other pens the joy stands out because of its extra wide nib. The regular nibs are boring and the 1 5 that came with my lamy joy took up too many pages during each lecture nearly twice as much.I thought i d try out the 1 1 nib. However i wanted a slightly narrower nib and the joy al 1 1 was the answer. Ink flow is every bit as good as the safari and the 1 1 nib makes exactly the lines i hoped for.
Lamy joy has a longer body than lamy safari demonstrator shown at the bottom. The safari has an excellent ink flow and makes terrific lines. Like most lamy fountain pens the grip.
